Don & Rene

Harbor at Shelter Island

This lovely couple was married on a rainy April day in San Diego, but they were nothing but smiles and love all day! Their traditional wedding ceremony took place at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Clairemont. Wedding photographers often use the word “stunning” to describe things, but this church earns the adjective! The walls were covered floor to ceiling in colorful hand-placed mosaics and topped off by a glorious chandelier. For once I was excited about the alter portraits after the ceremony! Don and Rene’s intimate ceremony included many Serbian Orthodox traditions including the crowning, the walk around the table and the serenade by the Tambura band. Afterwards, they had a spontaneous first dance outside of the church while their friends and family looked on. I still get chills thinking about that!
The reception took place at the beautiful Best Western Island Palms and included stunning views of the harbor after the rains moved through.
